Where does your church meet?

This is a great question. On Sunday mornings we meet in Calera at 532 George Roy Parkway in 3 warehouses. We worship in building B. However, we also live and serve in Montevallo, Alabaster, Pelham, Helena, and Hoover through out the week. We believe the church is a people rather than a place.

How can I get connected?

The primary ways to connect to the faith family at Shelby Crossings is by attending our Sunday worship services, connecting to biblical community through small groups, and serving others in the church and the community. We sum up these three connections this way: Know God, Love People, Serve Others.

Do you have Sunday school or something like that?

It’s been called anything from Sunday school to Life Groups. We have Small Groups that meet in Building A on Sunday mornings at 9:00am for all ages. These on campus Small Groups meet for prayer, Bible study, life discussion, and outreach planning.

What kind of people make up Shelby Crossings?

We think our mission statement states it perfectly. We are a diverse community of believers who are committed to developing passionate followers of Christ to impact the world. Some people are here just checking out what Jesus is all about. Others have been a part of a church their whole lives. We are a family of all ages, all cultures, and all backgrounds.

What if I’m not used to going to church?

You are why Shelby Crossings was started. It’s okay if you have not stepped into a church for years. We want you to have a comfortable place to consider and wrestle with God and what He wants for you.

What will the worship service be like?

Most terms like “contemporary” seem to mean different things to different people. You might call our service these things but the bottom line is we are a group of various backgrounds living in the 21st century and that plays into our services. This means we sing both new songs and great hymns of our faith. There will always be a Christ-centered message from Scripture that is helpful and practical for all of life. We celebrate Jesus' life, death, and resurrection through communion once a month. We also spend time giving back what God has given us. If you are a guest, please do not feel obligated to give anything financially - we just ask that you place the response card attached to the bulletin in the offering as your gift to us.

What should I wear?

You are welcome to wear whatever you would like (just don’t come dressed like Adam and Eve). There is no dress code here so just be you. Most people come dressed casually.
