Recap Video of VBS
What a great week of Vacation Bible School we've had so far his week! The Lord has blessed with great weather, safety for the kids, provision for our VBS supply needs, and best of all, His Spirit has been evident in the way He has moved throughout the week in the lives of the children and workers.
We've had at least 136 children in attendance, plus another 60+ volunteer workers. Last night, we had a packed house for our Family Night, and such a sweet spirit of fellowship and cooperation throughout the week. God has truly been honored in our Vacation Bible School this summer....and He is not finished yet!
Please continue to pray for God's work in our VBS today, and His continued work in the lives of families who have been impacted this week by our week of Bible study, worship and fellowship. Also, if you haven't been involved this week, but would like to help out, please join us at the end of our VBS, a little after noon today, to help us set up our three buildings for this Sunday.
Follow-Up: Thanks to all of you for helping spread the word about our Vacation Bible School this week. We had so many new children with us, many of whom are not plugged in to a local church. Please follow up with your friends and neighbors who attended this week, and invite them back to worship with us this Sunday. One other quick request: if you put out a "Splash" VBS sign in your neighborhood, or if you've seen one in your area, please help us be good citizens by cleaning those signs up after our VBS is over.
Thank You! - One final word of thanks to all of those who have helped make "Splash" such a wonderful week. Thanks to all the adult and youth volunteers who have given of their time in planning and preparing for the week, and for your service of the Lord (and the children) this week. Thanks also to all those who brought craft supplies and snacks, and contributed specifically toward our VBS.
Haiti Global Orphan Project
Our Shelby Crossings missions team recently presented plans for our church's involvement with the Global Orphans Project in Haiti. Currently, our plans are to move forward to build an orphanage in the Mole St. Nicoles village in Haiti, and also commit resources for supporting orphans for at least the next three years.
Some of our small groups are already planning their own projects for raising support for our investment in the GO Project. If you would like to be added to the mailing list for updates on the GO Project, or if you would like more information about going on a mission trip to Haiti in the fall, please contact our missions team at missions@shelbycrossings.com. You can also check out further information about the Global Orphans Project ministry here.
